About Me Part 1

It's been a while since I wrote about my journey, and I thought I'd talk about the struggles in my life. I was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis as a baby, which led to spastic Cerebral Palsy on my left side. I've had problems walking, and using my left arm and hand, as It was almost always closed. I was frustrated at times, as it made doing ordinary things ten times harder. I couldn't hold onto things, and physiotherapy was really hard. I remember doing finger and hand stretches which never really helped stretch anything.

I struggled throughout my life, trying to find out who I was. I thought I had to live up to my older sister and older brother, in terms of finishing my schooling years. I gave school everything I had. I was dedicated to reaching graduation no matter how hard it was. And, believe me, it was hard. I just couldn't process things other students could, so having everything modified was my way of learning. I'm proud, I never gave up, no matter how hard the school work was. It paid off, as in grade 10, I was on the Honor Roll twice, and 2005, I graduated with my Dogwood Diploma.

Thus, ending my journey of school from K-12, and onto university.
